A Study on the Blood Donation by Some People


Abstract
A research was carried out for the purpose of clearifying the Sex and Blood type of some blood donating people in Seoul area. During the period from August 12 to the September 17,. 1972. 732 people (487 men and 245 women interviewed and filled the form that had been previously prepared.
The results were summarized as follous
1. The mean value of age were 35.4 years of men and 28.5 of women.
2. Occupation was; students: 31.3% Commercial-Industrial people: 14.6% Company clerks: 8.7% and soldiers: 8.1% etc.
3. The rates of sex;
1) of exchange were 6.4 percent of male and 6.5 of female.
2) of contributer were 11.3 percent of male and 7.7 of female. 3) of donor were 17.7 percent of male and 14.2 of female.
4. The rates of blood type;
1) of exchange donor were 8.4 percent of A B type, 8 of A, 6.4 of B and 5.1 of O.
2) of Contribute donor were 12.0 percent of 0 type, 11.6 of B, 9.7 of AB and 8.9 of A. 5.
1) The educational level of exchange donor was college graduates (C. G.) 19.6% college student! (C. S.) 17.4% high school graduates (H. S. G.) 13.0 % and 50.0 % middle school graduates (M.
S. G.)
2) The educational level of Contribute donor was C. G. 15.9%, C. S. 5.7%, H. S. G. 7.7%. an, 11.9 % M. S. G.
3) The attitude toward blood donation was bad; C. S. 45.8% H. S. G. 45.4%, good; M. S. G
50.9%. effectless; 16.0%. C. S., M. S. G, 12.1 % C. S. 25.7%. 15.8%. M. S. G.
4) The ideal time of donation a year were once, C. G. 24.2%, C. S. 25.21% H. S. G. 23. 8%
twice, H. S. G. 11.3%, C. S. 9.8%, M. S. G. 9.2%. no idea, M. S. G. 64.2%, C. G. 56.6%.
5) The media through that the knowledge of blood donation was Obtained were: . M. S. G. Nev
paper: 25.8%. radio: 14.5%, friends 13.9%, lecture 4.0%, T. V:3.2% C. G. News paper 42.6%
radio 10.9%, T. V. 9.8%, lecture 8.2%, friends 7.9% exc.
6. The rate of religion -
1) of blood exchange was 13.3% Buddhism, 7.1% christian, 4.5% None, 3.7% Catholic.
2) of Contribute donor was 15.4% Christian, 13.3% Buddhism, 10.7% Catholic, 8. 0% non.
3) of Donation donor was 26.6% Buddhism, 23.1% christian, 14.3% Cathoric and 1.3% none
